Aqua is in the process of cataloguing and studying the approximately 10 families of primates that inhabit our area. We have succeeded in building a project that is harmonious enough that our monkeys calmly frequent the resort every day in harmony with our guests.

As we have been carefully building Aqua over the last 7 years without feeding our monkeys or altering their natural behaviors, our primate friends are tame and relaxed around visitors – often walking along the rails and bridges around the resort as they move from one tree to another on the ‘monkey highways’ around our resort. Aqua is pursuing wildlife refuge status for further protection of the flora and fauna that make up our tropical dry forest habitat.
